The most important thing about a job is how much money you earn in that job

Among many of us, it is thought that the volume of money you make in a job, determines the value of that job. While the first thing to be taken into consideration when choosing a work is the remuneration, there are other factors which influence on our decision.

Firstly, it is said that there is a strong correlation between better life and sufficient money. The principal of being employed is to have an adequate remuneration required to build a life you want. The closest example would be the increasing number of migrants from a poorer nation to a wealthy one, who leave their home country for well paid job. The main reason behind these movement is, in my opinion, due to inadequate payment in their home country.

On the other hand, job satisfaction is an another essential factor in the workplace, which keeps a lot of employees in a low paying organisation. According to Maslow hierarchy, the theory created by American psychologist Abraham Maslow, the first need to an individual is a physical items, such as money, food, and house. The subsequent need involves social status, self-esteem and sense of connection, etc,. From this point of view, the amount of wage cannot be considered as the principal reason.

In conclusion, everyone has their own perspective depending on their needs. Making a great deal of money can be just first reason for work. Having said that, once someone has got a secure job, the importance of a work could be change to another needs.

Fresh water has always been a limited resource in some parts of the world. Today, however, growing worldwide demand has made this a global problem. What are the causes of the increased demand and what measure could governments and individuals take to respond to this problem?

Some nations have struggled for a long time due to insufficient drinking water. But over the years this problem has been spreading all over the world and has become a global issue. I believe the root cause of this phenomenon is directly related to human's wrong actions. Since water is a nonrenewable resource, only thing we can do is to prevent from further deterioration.

Overconsumption of water by human greatly contributes to high demand for drinking water. I do not know precisely how much water is used when we just have a show and wash hands and flush a toilet, but I am pretty sure unbelievable number would come up. Furthermore, in my country, for example, a car washing business consumes fresh water just to wash a vehicle. Such selfishness and inconsiderateness have cause shortages of fresh water.

In order to save fresh water, I believe, that government sponsored awareness campaign is the most viable solution. An effective advertising campaign could warn of danger of a shortage of drinking water and hopefully raise awareness amongst the public. Moreover, instilling in young children the importance of conserving fresh water can be another approach to the problem.

In summary, since we all consume water in daily life and are also unable to survive without it, the participation of all of us to save water is crucial. Just small adjustments, for instance turning off the tap while brushing our teeth, can have great impact.

Sample essay written by a candidate who got band 9

Since time immemorial, in certain drier parts of the world, fresh water has always been a scarce natural resource. However, in the present time, due to various reasons, scarcity of fresh water has become a global issue. This essay will illustrate some factors contributing to this problem and will also elicit certain steps that can help the national authorities and individuals in controlling this growing demand for natural salt free water.

Firstly, population explosion is the factor of utmost importance, which has lead to the global surge in potable water requirement. Secondly, increase pollution of natural fresh water reserves due to urbanisation and industrialization has compounded this demand. Furthermore, in modern times, the growing use of salt free water for activities like recreational swimming, have also catalysed the surge in global water demand.

National authorities, on the other hand, can control this surge by implementing public education schemes regarding controlled water usage. Strict national legislations for preventing natural fresh water reserve pollution are also required. Moreover, government should also enact infrastructures for purification of seawater into saline free water, which will help in meeting the growing requirement of fresh water.

Similarly, public can also contribute towards this noble cause by conserving water and also by limiting their daily household water usage. They should refrain themselves from performing activities that will pollute natural fresh water reserves.

Thus even though, the scarcity of fresh water is a growing global problem, there are various means and methods available, by which both the government and individuals can prevent this from worsening.

In many countries schools have severe problems with student behaviour. What do you think are the causes of this? What solutions can you suggest?

Students behaviour has become a big issue in many nations. The reason of the circumstances is explained in a lot of ways. Personally, I consider that there are only a few major causes of this, and I also find the causes solvable if authorities take right actions.

Firstly, the democracy, in my opinion, is the root of the problem as it allows everyone to freely behave. In most western countries, schools have an policy of giving an equal right to both students and teachers to communicate in a classroom. On one hand it is perfectly fine because student skill of articulateness improves. But on the other hand it is seriously wrong as teachers might lose their control in classroom. My suggestion for this problem is to increase the privilege of teachers in school.

Secondly, the overuse of internet among students  may be an another explanation for their bad behaviour. Social networking sites such as Facebook, twitter have enabled every body to openly express themselves. There are even some Facebook pages created by students which are intended to insult a particular teacher or school. This sort of things could have a huge impact on their attitude. By having some limitation on the use of internet for students by parents, the problem can be diminished.

In conclusion, freedom is absolutely vital in our lives, however, when and to whom this freedom should be given is more critical. Giving too much freedom to youngsters who are not aware of its detriment is most likely to harm only themselves but also others.

The sample written by someone who got band 9

In numerous nations educational institutions are facing serious difficulties with the conduct of their pupils. This essay will suggest that poor parenting is the root cause of this phenomenon and submit that a public awareness campaign is the most viable solution, followed by a reasoned conclusion.

The principal cause of poor discipline in school is poor discipline at home. Many mothers and fathers either do not have the time or the skills required to teach their youngsters the value of manners and respecting authority. This results in many young people not listening to their teachers, being rude and actively rebelling against rules and regulations. For example, a recent study by Cambridge University found that 1 in 3 teenagers would refuse to comply with a rule if they didn't agree with it, compared to just 1 in 8 in a similar study in 1990.

The most practical solution to this problem is a government sponsored awareness campaign. An effective advertising campaign could warn of the danger of misbehaviour and hopefully raise awareness amongst the public. For example, the United Kingdom recently lobbied their citizens to teach their children about the importance of respecting teacher and this resulted in a dramatic improvement.

In summary, widespread negative behaviour in the classroom has been caused by caregivers not instilling the values of deference and civility in their offspring; however this can be tackled through a public education programme that promotes these values. It is also recommended that people should attend parenting classes before their child starts kindergarten.

Whoever controls the media also controls opinions and attitudes of the people and there is little can be done to rectify this.

Whoever controls the media also controls opinions and attitudes of the people and there is little can be done to rectify this.
To what extend do you agree or disagree?

The media is thought be the most powerful tool to affect people’s mind. So that it is believed that the mindset of the public can be controlled through the media. Personally, I totally agree with the statement due to the some experience in my life.

Firstly, media manipulation is a big issue in every society. Particularly, internet is a commonly used media, as by which people regularly obtain the latest news happening around the world. Authorities and political parties often manipulate the media throughout their career. What they do is to have some articles and broadcast made by professionals so as to brainwash the public.

Secondly, the changes in children’s upbringings, in my opinion, are related to this phenomenon. Take a look at this example, in olden times, parents and grandparents were the main source of information for youngsters. But these days, youngsters no longer hear advice and information from elderly, and they believe what they read and watch on the media, without any filter and serious consideration and then they end up being manipulated by someone.

In conclusion, over the years, we have witnessed how the media can influence our mindset.  The media has become indispensable part of our lives. So it is almost impossible to get rid of this straight away. However, if we keep oursleves away from the media and recover the real communication with other people, we could diminish the power of the media.

The idea of having a single career is becoming an old fashioned one. The new fashion will be to have several careers or ways of earning money and further education will be something that continues throughout life.

It is believed that focusing on a singe career is out of date these days. The new trend is that people should have more than one occupation in their life, and they should never stop learning. Personally, I agree with the new trend, as it has more advantages.

In the old days, people were loyal to their company, focused on their occupation and stayed there until they retired. However, some people believe that a competition in labor market at that time must have been lower. People did not necessarily own more occupation. But these days, having several occupation is precious asset, since people could bring innovative idea from their previous company and implement it in the current workplace.

Furthermore, it is undeniable that continuous education is an essential thing these days. People need to update with the current condition since economy, information technology and science develop rapidly. Those who are not following the latest information and regulations will face difficulties in their careers. For instance, people who work in the information technology sector should update themselves with the latest type of software, since information technology is rapidly developing. Those who fail to update will face serious problems in the workplace.

In conclusion, I personally believe that having different types of works in life is a positive thing and bring a lot of benefits to person's career, and it is important for people to study or learn throughout their life as the world never stop to develop.

We are becoming increasingly dependent on computers. They are used in business, hospitals, crime detection and even to fly planes. What things will they be used in the future? Is this dependence on computers a good thing or should we be more suspicious of their benefits?

These days computer is an indispensable part of our lives. Over the years, the consumption of computer has increased and we have become more dependent on this technology. There is no doubt that more and more things will be done through computer. Computer has greatly simplified the way we live, however, there are some issues to be taken into consideration.

On one hand, this advanced technology saves us a lot of time and trouble. The closest examples are to book a flight ticket or to pay a phone bill on internet. If computer was not invented, we would have to go to these places in person, spending time and money. But now by using internet, you simply make it within a few seconds.

On the other hand, excessive usage of computer is more likely to cause problem, as it keeps all the personal information of us. Every time we use computer, we provide with our private information to some extent. This data can be used by someone dangerous, known as hacker. This problem has already started happening everywhere in the world. Despite of the danger, people still cannot eliminate it from their lives.

In conclusion, computer has given us plenty of opportunities, though we should consider the disadvantage of computer, along with the advantages when using it. No matter how amazing it is or how easy it is, some restrictions has to be set on it. Furthermore, authorities ought to take an action to warn people how dangerous it can be.

News editors decide what to broadcast on television and what to print in newspapers. What factors do you think influence these decisions? Do we become used to bad news? Would it be better if more goods news was reported?

News editors decide what to broadcast on television and what to print in newspapers. What factors do you think influence these decisions? Do we become used to bad news? Would it be better if more goods news was reported?

These days, television and newspapers are still one of the most popular media. But over the years, content of the news has been changing from good to bad. It might be because of the fact that it gets more attention of readers and viewers. In my opinion, there are several factors that affect news editors when making decisions about what to report on TV and newspaper.

The first point to be taken into consideration before criticizing the bad news reported by TV and newspaper is that who has encouraged this and why it has happened. I can simply explain it with few examples. For instance, when you watch TV news or read a newspaper, what part do you watch and read most. Majority of us would say crime or robbery, in other words bad news. If we just ignored and did not make it popular, it would , I think, be thoroughly different.

The second point is that any authority may have impact on news editor's decision. Media has been the most popular weapon for authorities, in particular political parties. In order to get vote in election or brainwash people with propaganda, they usually TV and newspaper. Nowadays it is hard to believe in information from these media. Because sophisticated news editors are able to distort any news.

In conclusion, as I mentioned above, authorities hold media in favour of them. But as far as I am concerned, the main factor is us. We are the one who encouraged news editors to broadcast bad news on television and in newspaper. To improve the situation, we should support good news more. Obviously, it would be better if society is delivered more positive news.

There are many different types of music in the world today. Why do we need music? Is the traditional music of a country more important than the international music that is heard everywhere nowadays?

Music is an indispensable part of our lives as it gives us a great relief and a lot of encouragement. As music industry evolves, people have had more options than they used to have, which results a separation between those who prefer traditional music and those who do not. In my opinion, we should be listening both of them because of the fact that they all have their own specific features.

Firstly, every country has its own unique traditional art which contains their culture and custom. As one part of art, music can represent all the uniqueness of a nation. As a new generation, every one of us is responsible for preserving our cultural heritage. It does not mean to just avoid every new thing , but to improve or mix it with modern music.

Secondly, I believe that traditional art such as music and art need to be regularly enhanced in order to keep up with rapidly changing society. Over the years, new musical instrument and style has been created. Because our world is globalized, the stream of new style is delivered to anyone, no matter how far they are. The closest example is that if any new song is released in USA today, people in Asia listen to it at the same time via internet.

In conclusion, it is meaningless to treat something differently owing to the fact that it is too old or too new. They all exist because they were useful at the time. The best option, as far as I am concerned, would be to treat fairly to folk music and modern.

Some people believe that teaching children at home is best for a child's development while others think that it is important for children to go to school.

There is an controversial issue about children's education in society which some people consider that the most effective way for children to study is to be taught by personal teacher at home whereas others are thoroughly against it. As far as I am concerned, to youths studying with their peers in the classroom has a lot more advantages from doing at home on their own.

The first point to be taken into consideration when discussing about this is that human being is a social animal. We need to socialize and collaborate with one another to keep up with society. Learning this skill in early age is absolutely crucial. If a child studies alone at home and get taught by their private tutor, they are more likely to gain better knowledge as the tutor focuses only on them. Having said that, when it comes to time to work, the only thing most employers seek from a new employee is that how they work as a team member, not how they perform a given task on their own.

The second point against not going to school is that it would encourage children to grow up becoming selfish and self-centered. We are not only talking about educating a child, but also preparing a right person in our society. One clear example is that how only child and those with siblings grow up differently. Those with brothers and sisters are able to easily interact with others while only child tends to be withdrawn.

In conclusion, teaching a child at home might be good for their knowledge. It could, however, cause damage for children's ability to communicate with society, which may result them raising entirely egocentric. Therefore, when making a decision about this, we should take into account other possible consequences as I mentioned above.

IELTS introduction paragraph paraphrasing №1

1. It is generally believed that the internet is an excellent means of communication, but some people suggest that it may not be the best place to find information. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

These days, the internet is considered to be a great way to communicate, however, it is not believed to be the most effective method to obtain information by some. In terms of speed of information, the internet is definitely number one, but there is some doubt for its reliability. Personally, I would say that users should not believe everything they have read on the internet.

The first point to be taken into consideration when choosing an information source is to think of the fact that internet is filled up with both necessary and unnecessary stuff. Everyone is able to contribute this huge database, no matter who they are and how smart they are. On one hand it could be advantage as people can freely express what they think, but on the other hand it can be disadvantage because most of those contributors write something on the internet without much proof or based on just rumor.

Furthermore, websites we often visit to get daily news belong to any authority. What I mean to say is that those authorities can use their websites in their favor. One clear example is when it comes to government election, majority of media, particularly websites, takes someone's sides. As a result, internet users are manipulated and end up making a wrong decision.

In conclusion, you can find what you want on the internet spending less time of yours. Having said that we should be aware of pros and cons of the internet when acquiring information. In other words, there are fake information along with true ones.

Sunday, 13 March 2016

It is generally believed that the internet is an excellent means of communication but some people suggest that it may not be the best place to find information.

Last two decades, the internet has almost completely changed the way we live, particularly the way we obtain information. Just like any other topics, there are pros and cons about the internet. Personally, I consider it would be more effective if people combine this communication method with other approaches.

The reason why I am in favor of the internet is that we get information much faster than we used to do before. By writing few keywords in the search engine of internet people find what they want within few seconds. It saves a lot of time and plus help us keep up with new info in rapidly changing environment. More importantly, you are able to communicate with your loved ones, no matter how far you are.

On the other hand, due to excessive information we struggle to find right information. On the internet everyone has right to write freely what they want. Some puts information based on their long time study and knowledge, while some just post their opinion. This freedom of media fills the internet with over-elaborated information.

To conclude, there is not one and only answer for this topic. There is no doubt that the internet makes the way we find information much easier, however it is inappropriate to believe everything you have found from the internet. We consider about the fact that both right and wrong information exist there.

Some people think that human history has been a journey from ignorance to knowledge. Others argue that this underestimates the achievements of ancient cultures, and overvalues our achievements.

Over the years, we human being have been innovating more and more new technologies, which seem that new generations are getting more sophisticated than old ones. But it does not mean new is always better. In my opinion, it has two sides just like any other things.

In olden times, we did not have computer, smart phone and any equipment that make our lives much easier. These all have become available to us since last two decades. This development in our lives makes big difference between us and our ancestors. What's more, we all see how small children nowadays are way smarter than we used to be in their age.

On the other hand, today scientists from every industry study how our ancestors figured out sciences without the technologies we use now. Furthermore, those current scientist still get astonished by how deep our ancestors knowledge was. From this point of view, it looks like as if we have been getting less sophisticated.

To conclude, it is hard to say which one is true, as there are two angles that both make sens. Personally, I would say there is not big distinction for the way of how brain of us and our previous generations works. In other word, in past times there were few genius people, while today more smart people are out there. But the potential capacity of their brain are pretty much the same.

In many parts of the world there is continuous coverage of sport on television

These days, young children are becoming less interested in team games and sports. It is my belief that this is mainly because of everyday work. Besides, I think every person would admit that sitting and relaxing is much easier than moving and running and sweating. As everything has two sides, this discussion has pros and cons. Personally, I am one of those who worry about it.

In some people's eyes the influence of non-stop sports channels is harmful and yet to others it is beneficial. Despite of the fact that those channels make young people lazy, in my opinion, youths are encouraged to do sport by them. When I was a young, sport stars would be role models for thousands of youngsters and therefore we used to be stimulated to do exercise by them.

From another point of view it would be true that these programmes make young people discourage. Children are easily addicted to something. Particularly if they are very interested in sports, it is almost impossible to make them stop watching. In addition to this, numerous new sports channels have been created. Nowadays, there are considerably fewer children playing with their friends on the street than used to be before.

What is more, boys have become physically and mentally less strong, even though some studies prove that new generations has grown into more intelligent. The reason for that might relate to lack of workout.

To conclude, the argument on both sides are valid, but

Everyone can play a part in helping to stop global warming and the destruction of the planet.

Humans causes too many problems to (for) the world by making (in order to make) their lives easier such as car factory (for example, cars factories). I thoroughly agree with that (the idea that) due to human's wrong operation (action), global warming started happening. If we generated this trouble, we also can stop it before it gets worse.

Recently, I have read an article about why global warming is threatening human being and what affected the most to it. According to the article, for example, this disaster is affect (has been affected) most by the fridge, which we use all the time. This piece of electrical equipment produces some kind of radiation and this chemical things distributes to the disaster. Just like this, many pieces of electrical equipments that are used in our daily life, have become danger to us.

Another point in favour of the statement is that in olden times, when we were closer to nature and didn't have equipments as we have now, human beings didn't have any serious illness and any big natural disaster. There is also an adage that the closer people are to nature, the healthier people are. Global warming doesn't only mean weather will become warm but means the more dangerous illness such as cancer will be created.

What's more, one of the most ridiculous operation we have been doing is destroying our forest which only can stop this disaster and protect us. Nowadays inforestration (deforestation) happens everywhere. Growing tree takes quite a long time.

What I want to say by mentioning the statements above is that we have the full of possibility to stop natural disasters. Other equipments which don't harm environment can be used.

Some of the methods used in advertising are unethical and unacceptable in today's society.

Advertisements have been getting more sophisticated and creative over the years. However, most of current advertisements are not convenient for children, but for adult. Furthermore, the majority of companies tend to use this kind of marketing approach.

To begin, marketing managers have avoided uniformly promotional methods, which evidently encourage people to buy or use their products. Instead they have given a subliminal message to customers. For example, the advertisements in early years used to be so clear to understand, and most of them used to be made to get attention of people. This approach used to easily bore the people. In my opinion, nowadays, these methods are almost fundamentally changed, and they have become more interesting and effective.

Nevertheless, the promotions with contents for over eighteen, for example women with bikini or nearly naked, have been dramatically increasing. In old times, if scenes for adults came on TV when a whole family was watching a movie or some TV programs together, children immediately used to cover the eyes with their hands, and also parents did not allow them to watch it. But today, this upbringing is progressively losing.

In addition, the increase of the brutal crime which is committed in society, could relate to the content of the ads. According to the report of the police department, the number of the young criminals has been enormously rising in the last few decades. Because they watch violence from advertisement apart from TV programs.

In conclusion, technological progress has turned the methods of the advertisement into perfect. But contents of those promotions are negatively affecting our subconscious especially young people.

What is your childhood favourite toy ?

Everyone has memorable toys which remind them of their childhood. For instance, girls used to have beautiful dolls, whereas boys had cars or toy guns.
Just like other boys, one of the toys I always played with in my childhood was a cap gun. It was simulated real one and had toy bullets. My father and mother did not like this kind of toys so I bought it without saying to them. Every child relies on their parents for money to buy something. It is obvious that the money I spent to buy the gun was my parents'.
Since I was a kid, I have been very keen on hitting something on a target. The items such as a gun, a slingshot were one of the staff which were always with me like a underwear. When I see a gun in a shop, It is often thought that if people still play with their childhood toys, I would definitely buy a more sophisticated cap gun.

As computers are being used more and more in education, there will be soon no role for teacher in the classrooms.

Technological progress has become our lives extremely fast and made the ways of studying and working easier and amusing. Over the last decade, there have been considerable changes to the school curriculum. Those modifications tend to be discussed whether the teachers are necessary in the classroom or not.
Nowadays, the way of being taught the lessons by teacher is considered too banal. It's obvious that the pupils in primary schools need the educators. But students in high school or university are

Changes in percentage of population in urban areas

The chart indicates the percentage of the population living in urban areas in the years 1950, 2007 and 2030. The first three columns show us the results in the whole world and the other columns show the results in different parts of the world. What is very obvious from the chart is that the number of people living in urban areas and also those moving to urban area are growing quite fast in all parts of the world and there isn't any part that the percentage has come down. It can also be seen that in North America and Latin America this percentage is higher than other parts. In comparison the proportion of people in cities in the rest of the world, Europe, Asia and Africa respectively have the highest percentages. The increase in the number of people in urban area is such that it is estimated that in the year 2030, approximately 60% of the people in the world will be living in urban areas.
