The charts below show the number of Japanese tourists travelling abroad between 1985 and 1995 and Australia’s share of the Japanese tourist market.

The bar chart illustrates the number of Japanese tourists who travelled overseas from 1985 to 1995, while the line graph presents data on the Japanese tourists who visited Australia in the same duration.

According to the bar chart, about 5 million Japanese holidaymakers travelled abroad in 1985. This number kept on increasing each year except in 1991 when about 10 million Japanese tourists went to other countries. Finally in 1995 the number reached to over 15 million which was three times more than the number of Japanese tourists who travelled abroad in 1985.

According to the graph chart, among 5 million Japanese tourists,2 million visited to Australia. This number kept on rising until 1989 when it reached to about 5 million. In 1990, the Australia's share of Japanese tourists decreased to just over 4 million and then this figure increased steadily till 1994 when it amounted over 6 million tourists. Finally in 1995, out of 15 million total Japanese tourists, 6 million travelled to Australia. This data shows that Australia was a very popular tourist's destination for Japanese holidaymakers for the given span of time.
