Some people say that youths should have a break before going to university. But some people are against it. To what extent do you agree with the statement?

After having graduated from high school, youngsters tend to be encouraged by their parents to go overseas for work and travel in order to take a break. Some people agree with this, while others are strongly against it. In my opinion, I consider that having some time before university life is essential for youngsters.

Firstly, majority of high school students struggle to figure out who they want to be and what they would like to achieve in the future. This temporary break might help them to find the answers for their questions. Without much consideration, youngsters could make a wrong decision when choosing a career. There are plenty of cases in which student drop out the university due to either the subject they chose no longer interests them or they found what they really want.

Furthermore, living overseas on their own far away from their parents can be vital life experience for young people. Those who have never been far away from the home and are always provided with money by parents do not seem to value what they have. When stepping on real life right after university, those with no experience about making money for their living will certainly face difficulties. Learning such things in early life is, in my opinion, absolutely essential.

In conclusion, for youths traveling around the world and discovering their talent and besides gaining some experience will definitely contribute to their future happiness. Today's generation has become more and more sophisticated. The secret behind this is they have already realized the importance of having some time to discover their inner talents and passions.
